Thrush, thrush baby, badabumbum baby. For some reason this is in my head to the vanilla ice beat. We have thrush! Trying not to hate life this past week with everyone having colds, coughs, fevers, and then going to the Dr. because Roe has thrush. Never experienced this little gem with any of my other babes and it sucks. As if I didn't already spend enough time with feedings..now I get to clean and medicate us each time also. On a side note, it's seems to be clearing up pretty quick so hopefully it won't be more than a week.
To make thus post a little more positive, yesterday I felt like I really needed to sit down and play with Lyla. I don't think I do that nearly enough with her and now with Roe it seems she is really getting shafted when it comes to my attention. It's so hard, cache is the oldest so he is always playing sports and his homework nightly demands a full hour if my undivided time. Roe needs me all day and I feel like I am just so exhausted that poor Lyla just kind of gets my left overs. I never want her to feel that way. How do people with so many kids do it? How do you balance giving your kids what they need but not spoiling them and causing them to have unrealistic expectations? I had to put my phone down, put my computer down, allow myself to not have anxiety because the house really does look like a disaster zone, and ask Lyla what she wanted to play. We had a tea party (with real cookies) and it was fun. I love that little girls imagination. She spins stories of who we are what we do and never gets confused when we pretend play. I amazed by how creative and cute she is. It was a fun day!

Here we go again...
Ok, so this time I really want to keep up to date posts about what's going on in my kids lives. I found this handy app for my phone so now that I am confined to a chair at least 12 times a day (nursing a newborn takes forever) maybe I can keep better record. I would love to one day print it out for a scrapbook, no idea how to do that but I will cross that bridge when I get to it! Life has been busy to say the least with our new addition, Monroe Sun Kim. She requires....ummmm, demands, A LOT of attention. Sometimes I ask lyla if we should take her back to the hospital and she gets this worried look on her face and says no. She is in love with her baby sister, I don't blame her she is too precious. Cache walked in my room this this morning and looked over at Roe and just said, mom, baby roe is so cute. We love her so much. Newborns are a catch 22. on one hand They are amazing, a miracle, everything new thing they do amazes you but on the other, I can't wait for the night feedings to be over, to have a somewhat self sufficient child, and to be able to have alone time for more than a couple hours. I keep telling myself just a few more months but it's hard because in just a few more months she won't be this tiny newborn. I guess I will just have to enjoy other people's new babies....this shop has closed down.

Not Doing So Hot
Well, so far I have not been too on top of writing this blog once a week. Although I will say February has had its trials. I think we were sick every week, almost everyday in February. I just didn't know how to get us better. Lots of fevers, lots of runny noses, strange viruses, and so much whining. I hope March looks better and we can get back into routine.

New Year, New Goals
My new goal for this year is to write an entry every Sunday for my kids. I want to make this into a book for them (not sure how to do that yet but don't have to worry about that for another year!) Last year flew by and my baby is now 2. Crap, that means I really have to start teaching her stuff! Potty Training, colors, abc's, all the things I am terrible at!
Lyla, you are the most precious thing ever. I seriously just want to sit and squeeze you all the time. You copy your brother in everything he says and does. Sometimes I feel like its a good thing...other times not so great! I love when I hear your baby voice say, shoot! oh man. I can't help but laugh to myself. You love getting yourself dressed which drives me crazy because you put together, shall we say...interesting, outfits. I wouldn't say you have hit the terrible two's because you don't really throw tantrums but you always let us know when you want something. I hope this year I can be so much better at keeping track of the weekly things you do, you are so cute and I wish I could capture every moment. It's so hard to punish you when you are so darn cute!
Cache, You have grown up so much in the past year. You started preschool, which you love and are doing amazing in. Already learning to read site words and learning how to write. It's pretty amazing how fast you learn. And I am so thankful for the people who know how to teach you these things because I am sure if it was just up to me you wouldn't be as far along. You are playing football and love it. I think you are enjoying it more than baseball and since you hopefully wont read this until you are older...I enjoy watching the football far more than baseball. I can't believe that you are going to Kindergarten this year. Part of me is excited and the other part is so sad. We have been together everyday, that's going to be a hard adjustment. I am excited to try and keep updated on whats going on in our lives.

April
I have been thinking about my new adventures each month and I think this month's new adventure would have to be staying in a beach house in La Jolla, Ca. It wasn't really planned to be my new adventure but I think it fits the bill. We went to La Jolla with my parents for a few days and rented a beach house about half a block from the windansea beach. It was amazingly beautiful and the kids had so much fun. We went the beach, attempted to have an easter brunch, and went to seaworld. We were having fun all weekend until easter came and we got all ready and Lyla just decided she wasn't feeling good and did not want to have any part of Easter brunch. She had a temperature saturday night and by the time we were on the way to breakfast we stopped by cvs to pick up some benadryl all the while lyla was crying hysterically. When I tried to give her some of the benadryl she was thrashing herself all around and the benadryl spilled all over my white shirt. At that point I had given up and we went back to the house. I put her to bed and my parents went to get some stuff to make Blina. Monday was a little better, we went to seaworld and had such a good time. Cache loved the dolphin show (not quite sure why...it needed a little more dolphin and little less strange acrobatic people) and Lyla loved the Shamu show. Which was very cool but somewhat disturbing...I am not sure about how I feel about seaworld. Anyhow, it was a good experience and we all had a good time. Tuesday morning we played at the beach and headed home. Having a one year old at the beach is a little too unsettling for me, she just kept running straight for the ocean. I loved the area we stayed but it was a surfer area that had huge waves. California is so beautiful its nice to be so close!

Easter Bunny brought candyland and Cache played all day long!

Trying to get a decent easter day picture...didn't work too well.

After easter brunch was a total bust we decided to make some blina.

Was able to visit one of my oldest (meaning known the longest!)friends. Somewhere around 25 years.
