Monterey, CA

Well I had written out a bunch of stuff about our vacation but somehow I erased it. Yeah, not so cool. Here is the run down, we visited Dave's parents in Monterey. We went to the aquarium (one of the largest in the world...I think), went to cannery row and carmel to window shop, ate at amazing restaurants, froze at the beach (don't think cache cared how cold it was and yes crazy people were swimming in the ocean and no we did not!) Just drove around alot and reminisced about when Dave and I lived there and how different some places were and how others never change. It is so beautiful, it makes me wish I was living somewhere even remotely pretty. However, few places compare to Monterey. We didn't get to do everything we wanted, lots of tourists around so it made it difficult to get around. Next we will plan for a different month.


*Visiting the farmers market, the best ever! SO many things to see and the best fruit and veggies. Yum Yum.

*Carmel beach is always supposed to be warmer...not that day!




*Monterey always has the coolest car shows and they were all headed into town for cherries jubilee. Everytime they would have a car show I would get it in my head that I could buy and old crappy car and restore it and drive all around town. Dave was not so into that idea.


*I guess cache pledged to be a safe driver...I think dave put him up to that. He loved seeing his face on the screen.

*On the rocks at lovers point in Pacific Grove. I worked at a bed and breakfast that overlooked the ocean here...it was such a fun job.

Apples to Zebra's

Cache started his Apple's to Zebra's preschool and loves it. He didn't cry, whine, pout, tell me he doesn't want to go...nothing. SO surprised. I was gearing up for alot of energy to get him to go every week but he really likes it. Which makes life so much easier for me. Yay! So far we love this program, a time for him to socialize (a trait I have a feeling came from his mother) he gets to make arts and crafts which I love since I am not one to love to do arts and crafts. So far its a win win...hope I don't jinx it.

Yay for the small accomplishments in life...

I am officially able to go to the gym again. After many years of Cache screaming, crying, and maybe a small fight with one of the day care workers (my fight not cache's)both children go in and have done good! Now I know I am totally cursing myself by saying this out loud but it has been a long road and it deserves a shout out!!! It is a small but amazing pleasure to have an hour of working out hard without any distractions.

I also finished my first online class. Summer always sucks to take classes and towards the end I was getting really lazy but its done. Whoo Hoo! The first of many, many, and unfortunately many more classes.

How do you feel?

I am opening this forum up to everyone...How do you feel about those companies, organizations, people, etc. boycotting Arizona? I guess I really haven't thought about it too much because it didn't affect me until just recently. I have been wanting to go to a really good concert for sometime now but just haven't had the time or felt the money was worth it until they announced the Lilith Fair. So many good artist's are scheduled to go on tour and they had previously announced they were coming to Arizona. Then (dun dun dun) they canceled. Their reasoning is that the venue was outdoors and it is too hot (couldn't they have moved it to somewhere indoors and don't tons of bands play outdoors here?) So then I heard that one of the artist's were blogging that they were not coming to support the boycotting of Arizona because of the new immigration law. Musicians have always supported political acts but when is it too far? Are we not supposed to be a UNITED (states) country? I feel sick to my stomach thinking people (states, etc.) are turning on eachother. If so many states are against the law why don't we come together to solve the issues?

*I would just like to say I don't necessarily agree with this law.

To be depressed or not to be depressed

I have this love hate thing going on with Utah. I love to go out there but when I return home it always takes me a few weeks to get motivated and not be depressed. I am making a conscious effort this time around to not sulk for a week. I have things planned each day and am ready for the summer to begin...bring it on! OK, I will admit I have been kind of sulky today but I am just giving myself this one day. Which goes along nicely with the craziness of the three year old cache. I am officially going to the library and finding myself a parenting book. I am so totally at the end of my rope. Wow, now that this post has really gotten side tracked and completely random I will go back to our short (haha, not really) visit to Utah. It was really beautiful. Lots of rain and cold, which I am sure the locals weren't happy about, but I loved it. It would have been nicer if I brought warmer clothes for my kids but who would have thought such freezing cold temperatures in June? I should have known better. It was nice to just go and relax, chill with family, and be in awe of how beautiful the mountains are. You forget when you live there that it is really absolutely gorgeous. I guess that could be something I am thankful for, living in a barren desert allows me to truly see the beauty of other places. Unfortunately, I didn't really take any pictures of us doing anything cool. Next time I will on top of that. I did however, try to take some of the kids. I am trying to just get a decent pic of the both of them, next we are headed to a professional.
